Thanks to the expertise of the Aequilibria srl team, expert in the field of product Carbon Footprint analysis, Biodermol has carried out a careful analysis of the internal processes and raw materials used to evaluate the impact in terms of CO2 of its products. This strategic partnership has allowed to obtain a clear vision of the environmental impact and will allow the research team to develop solutions to reduce the impact of the solutions offered, including the adoption of sustainable raw materials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Carbon Footprint Systematic Approach:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
The CFP calculation system has been integrated with the other management schemes active in Biodermol and will make it possible to provide each individual customer with the exact value of CO2 consumption up to its gate. The systematic approach also allows the Biodermol team to independently make changes if the product formulations are optimized, while continuing to guarantee the absolute reliability of the data, certified by Bureau Veritas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Carbon Footprint of Biodermol C3: Reduction of climate impact through analysis<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
The analysis concerned the phases of the product life cycle from raw materials to production processes up to transport to the customer. At the end of the elaboration of the model, a pilot product was tested, i.e. Biodermol C3 historical macerating agent for Biodermol. In the specific case, the main phase responsible for 75.25% of the impact is the core, reflecting the commitment to the production of the enzymes used. Choosing suppliers geographically close to Biodermol makes it possible to reduce upstream impacts, as does the choice of biobased raw materials and waste reuse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
What’s next?: Biodermol aligns itself with ESGs<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
By the first half of 2024, we have set ourselves to carry out an assessment on ESG’s criteria to assess our environmental, social and governance performance. The company will therefore dedicate itself not only to improving environmental performance, but also to achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
